Year 3

Looks like we are a 3 star school now and have a bit different positions, weird our academic prestige went down.

We signed two, 3 stars for both.

Lane - C
Manning - T

We hop into the rankings at #64 behind Boston College.

Signed two more OLB Davis and CB Bowen both 3 stars from TX.

#83 behind BYU and Illinois.

Three more signees, Johnson 3 star CB, Herron 3 star T, Martin 3 star FS.

Class #72 behind Boston College and Illinois.

We got three more this week, Allen 4 star ATH, Foster 4 star HB and Wood a 3 star G.

Class #31, behind Zona State and Florida right now.

We signed one this wee 3 star CB Barnes.

Class 27 behind Clemson.

We signed Parker a 3 star SS.

End with class 44 behind Washington.

Signed Warren from KY a 4 star RB.

I have moved up to 38th class behind Louisville.

Signed Kicker 3 star - Perry.

signed 10 to finish out recruiting Macklin a 4 star SS and a bunch of other players that are 3 or 2 stars that likely won't make a cut.

My class ended up #12, behind USC.

We look to be back to a 2 star school we were a 3 star last year so glad we got a good class with that extra star.

End of year 3

Year two

Back for year two... I'll get those pictures up for the last one sometime.

I redshirted basically every freshmen but the few I pointed out that would need to start at lb.

This years pool of guys is very similar to last years first board.

Through week 5 in recruiting nothing has really happened, had first visits, hoping to get a few to sign early to free up some time.

Week 8 we get our first signee, 3 star center.

Zack Van puts us at 106, behind Marshall.

Signed #2 - Miller a 3star mlb.

Class 112, behind Eastern Michigan.

4 signings this week:

Haynes, DT 3 star (beat out Oklahoma)
McDonald, CB 3 star
Merritt, TE 3 star
McCullough FS 3 star

#91 class behind Marshall.

And this week we get three - Duckett (T) 3 star, Triplett (OLB) 3 star and Stewart (DE) another 3 star.

I really like the base of players that this has brought in for us we should have a decent team next year and a better one the year after. These signings take us to #68 class right behind Air Force.

We finished this regular season 8-4. not a bad record which will help us get into a bowl game this year and fills my first contract so I don't have to worry about a potential bad season next year.

inseason recruiting is finished i ended up #93, right behind UConn. I have 9 3 stars signed.

Looks like we'll be going to the New Orleans Bowl. We get Troy who is 9-3, I don't expect to compete in the game but we lose 10-17 so I'll take the bowl appearance in year two and be very happy with that.

So my overall record right now is 14-11 (0-1 Bowl Apperances).

No transfers this year.

We sign 4 star FS Josh Bowser, 1st 4 star of this class. He is the #4 FS in this class.

Also got 4 star OLB Stewart this week too. That's two 4 stars for this second class!

up to class 70 right behind BYU.

Signed 3 star OLB Clark.

Still #70 behind BYU.

Signed 6 to finish - one was mine. Davis the 3 star FS from NC. The others will likely be cut.

We finished class #56 - right behind Boston College.

I moved one FS to OLB, otherwise everyone stayed where they should. I flipped a RE to LE for depth purposes.

Year one

This is going to be a quick synopsis over my NCAA Dynasty with Rice.

I just signed my 3 year deal.

I put two 1aa schools for two easy wins - I need to make sure I get four per year.

Since I run the 3-4 I always need MLB my first year, so in recruiting I will usually target 3.

Looking at the overall recruits, and getting a bump from being in Texas, It looks like we have some fairly good talent that should be easy to work with. There are two CBs, QB, #11 SS (started #2 on him) FS, two MLB, TE, OLB all 3 stars I am targeting, I always get a few linemen too.

Most guys I am #1 with to start, I ordered my list and usually give my top guys an hour with others coming in 30-40 based on how I feel they will be recruited. Typically this way it is fairly quick to see which players simmy isn't working on and which guys he is.

Another rule I like to go with, always get way out ahead of BCS schools ASAP. They can too easily overtake you late if you don't have a cushion and even then sometimes they can. I usually try to hit 12-14 guys that I expect to sign 95% of them. I expect to pick up 2-4 stragglers depending on how fast guys start signing with me.

If a guy is a key recruit and you are going to lower him to the 40 min mark I always add an extra 10 mins.

week two no big changes to recruiting (pictures below)

I have also included a picture of what my team rankings are... notice we're pretty bad across the board.

Marcus Davis the 3 star mlb that is #4 on my board is the only player that isn't #1 for me on my get list. Otherwise it looks like a good group of players, a defensive oriented class, but typically my first year at a school that is what it looks like. Will Henderson #44 TE is also very close with Navy, I think I will still pull that out fairly easy though.

I jumped in on the #31 C - I don't think I can get him but no offers so i have a chance.

Week 6 and nobody has signed with me yet but I feel very confident that this class will hit 12 3 stars inseason.

The top recruit on my board Joey Jude, #32 CB is coming for a visit this week with a few other players I think we should get a few guys signing on soon which will really help fill in the back end of this class. Nathan Wyatt (the top recruit on my board overall #11 SS) is coming for his visit this week as well.

Week 8 comes and I sign Jude, 3 star CB who was #1 on my board. Looking to get two more CBs and two-three safties and we could have a very good db's in a few years.

This signing puts us on the board at #104 class. Right behind Central Michigan.

Wyatt signs.

Joseph the C signed with Baylor - I was never higher than 2

Same with Davis (MLB) off to UTEP, 2nd was my high.

Class is rated 106, behind Colorado State.

Week 9... Sign Kendrick (QB) and Henderson (TE) both 3 stars.

Class #98 below Ball State.

Signed Wallace (DT) and Walker (CB) two more 3 star players.

Class 91, below Missouri.

Well I am #7 for Antwan Zeigler a 4 star Athlete #20 ATH. Intereseting I might have a chance but I think Michigan will ultimetaly sign him.

We got Hawkins (OLB) Tate (MLB) and Hicks (FS) this week. All 3 stars.

Class is at 66 now, right below Tennessee and Houston.

Porter (DE) and Royal (FS) sign this week. Both 3 stars as well.

Class 54, behind Maryland.

I just took the lead on 4 star Zeigler as well.

3 star G Edwards signed. He is the only offensive lineman I targeted in-season, that isn't typical I usually try to sign at least two each year.

Class 49, behind UTEP.

Inseason Class finished at 58 - 12 3 stars one behind Utep.

We got a sophomore center transfer from Texas - should be a good fit in a year.

After Week 2 of offseason recruiting I landed Zeigler 4 star ATH and Wilkerson a 3 star ATH.

This moved us up to 47th ranked class behind Tennessee and Texas Tech.

Computer signed a 3 star qb for me... he likely won't ever make a cut.

Sitting at 45th right behind Georgia.

Side note: We finished 6-6 no bowl game last year.

I have a Punter and a Kicker that I am working on right now... Might have my special teams set for four years.

And on signing day we get seven players, two 2 star QBs (they will be cut) 3 star Punter (#7) Bates, 3 star ATH Sowell and three four stars, ATH Clemons, SS Walter and HB Jennings.

This first class at Rice ranks #23, behind Nebraska.

The kicker that I would have signed DNQ - perfect!

I will be interested to see where I can plug these Athletes in on defense I think we could have a very good team in two years. None of these recruits will play this year unless they have to (MLB for example will have to play) as I will redshirt everyone else.

Well it looks like after a bit of roster switching I made a few changes...

Zeigler - 4 star ATH is a WR
Clemons - 4 star ATH is a WR
Wilkerson - 3 star ATH is a RB
Sowell - 3 star ATH is a RB

not really what I was hoping for in ATH.

Kelvin Walter, SS #7 (4 star) moved to MLB to help set up for the move to the 3-4. Wyatt, SS #13 also moved to MLB. These two will start this year. Hicks, FS #48 and Royals FS #25 both moved to ROLB and will RS.

That is the end of year one.
